You’ve invested in a car, now it’s time to invest in keeping your car safe. Here are some tips for taking care of your vehicle and keeping it running smoothly.

1) Fill up the tank as soon as you can before the gas light comes on

2) Keep tires inflated properly

3) Check air filters regularly

4) Get an oil change every 10,000 miles or at least twice a year

Fill up the tank as soon as you can before the gas light comes on

It’s important to fill up the tank before it runs out of gas. If you wait too long, then your car will go into “Reduced Power Mode” which will make driving difficult and sometimes impossible. Not only that, but you’ll have to pay more for gas as well because it’s not cheap these days! If you’re running low on fuel and don’t have time to stop at a station, try switching over to electric power by turning off your engine or coasting down an incline with your foot on the brake pedal. It may take a little longer than usual, but most cars can travel 20 miles or so in this mode without issue. You shouldn’t go more than 50 miles per hour, otherwise you risk draining your battery.

Keep tires inflated properly

Tires should be inflated to the manufacturer’s recommended pressure for your model of vehicle. If you have a tire that is low on air, make sure to stop and get it fixed before driving on it. Low tire pressure can cause unevenly distributed weight and increase fuel consumption as well as create an unsafe driving environment with increased traction loss. To prevent these problems from occurring, keep your tires properly inflated at all times!

Check air filters regularly

Air filters in your car are a simple way to keep the air you breathe inside the vehicle clean. Most cars have an air filter on top of the engine, and this filter should be checked regularly for signs of wear or damage. If your car is more than 7 years old, it’s worth checking them every 3 months- if not sooner depending on how often you drive. Air filters work by trapping dirt and debris that would otherwise circulate in the cabin air while driving. If these particles are allowed to enter into the car’s ventilation system they will eventually clog up vital parts like heating coils which could lead to costly repairs down the line. If you don’t regularly change out or clean your car’s air filter, you could be putting your health and safety at risk.

Get an oil change every 10,000 miles or at least twice a year

It is important to get your oil changed at the right interval. If you are not sure, ask your service provider for advice. You want to make sure that you are getting the best performance out of your vehicle and prolong its life by keeping it running smoothly and maintained regularly. The most common intervals for an oil change vary from 10,000 miles or two years (whichever occurs first) up to 15,000 miles or three years (whichever occurs first). It’s always a good idea to check with your car manufacturer before making any changes because they may have different recommendations on how often you should do an oil change.
